Gastronomy is the first step in getting to know a place, its inhabitants and their lifestyle. Local cuisine is something every tourist wants to explore, because it creates a direct connection with local customs and traditions.

Stara planina offers a big variety of dishes that are prepared with a small number of ingredients and in a very simple manner, and the taste of this food satisfies all our senses. Today on our menu are stuffed peppers with nuts, which have been prepared in our grandmother’s homes since ancient times 🙂

ABOUT THE PROJECT PARTNERS

The realization of the project „Taste of Stara planina” was led by 2 partners from Serbia and Bulgaria.

The leading partner in the project is the association “Manifesto” from Serbia, founded in 2011 with the aim of promoting local innovations in the service of increasing tourist competitiveness and development of the region. The Manifesto Association has successfully implemented the Cultural Events Network project to support the organization of local cultural events in the Serbia-Bulgaria cross-border region with the aim of improving tourist visibility.

Other partner in the project is the association “Regional Partnerships for Sustainable Development-Vidin”, established in 2003 with the aim of establishing sustainable partnerships for regional development through project preparation and implementation, as well as through participation in local, regional and international projects and events.

The project is co-funded by EU through the Interreg-IPA CBC Bulgaria-Serbia Programme.
